National Emergency Library
The National Emergency Library lets you electronically borrow books for 14 days. They have over 14,000 titles available.
Here are the instructions…
- Go to https://archive.org/details/nationalemergencylibrary
- Sign up with your email and choose a password
- Search for a title to borrow in the upper right part of the window (enter a search term and click the magnifier icon)
- When a page comes up with your title (or list of titles), click “Borrow” button on the book you want to borrow.
- Another window opens, with a preview of your book… click on the “Borrow this Book” button
- Now click on the Download button that says PDF/ePub
- You will see a pop-up that looks like this…
- Click on the button to “Install Adobe Digital Editions” software (you need that to read the book
- After the software installs, click on the “Encrypted Adobe PDF” button.
- It will download a file with an “.acsm” extension. You must open this file with the Adobe Digital Editions app.
