Being a college student can be challenging under ideal circumstances; for formerly incarcerated and system-impacted students, challenges can include access to basic needs such as housing, food, and transportation. College success relies on technologies many formerly incarcerated students haven’t been able to access for long periods of time. These pages focus on how to navigate that technology, how to find Palomar College campus systems and services, and what community based organizations are available to help with housing, employment, and other logistics.
- Peer mentor support is available throughout the week for anyone who would like some one-on-one assistance with technology and other needs. Check the schedule to see when peer mentors are available at the Rising Scholars Center.
- Help with technology basics like how to use a computer and the internet
- Campus services and community-based organizations for basic needs like housing, food, and employment
