Who is Prof. Pain?

My name is Elizabeth Pain, but go by Betsy.

I have been teaching at Palomar College for the last 18 years.  I teach a variety of other classes including Biological Anthropology lecture and lab, Cultural Anthropology, Introduction to Archaeology, Archaeology Excavation, Magic Witchcraft and Religion, Comparative Societies, Historical Archaeology, and Careers in Archaeology. Archaeology is my main specialty where I have the opportunity to help students learn how to excavate in our hands-on Fall Archaeology Excavation class.  I am also the Archaeology Program Coordinator for Palomar College.

I was first introduced to archaeology at the community college I attended right out of high school. After two years, I transferred to UCLA and earned a BA in Anthropology.  I later completed my MA at CSUN (Northridge), in anthropology with an emphasis in archaeology.  I am also a Registered Professional (RPA) Archaeologist.
