The New Student Orientation is part of Step 3: Launch Your Success in your Steps to Enroll.

Your New Student Orientation will give you a great head start at Palomar College. Students who complete their orientation are better prepared to achieve their academic, career and personal goals. After completing your orientation you will be ready to begin your academic planning and register for classes.

Orientation can be completed online at your convenience in your MyPalomar account.

Steps to Complete Your New Student Orientation

  1. Sign in to MyPalomar using your Palomar Student ID # and Password.
  2. Under "My Information" then under "Holds", click on the New Student Orientation found on the right side.
    Please note, while this is under the Holds tab, it does NOT place any holds on your account.
    Shows the "Orientation" notification on MyPalomar. It clarifies that orientation is optional and will not place any real holds on your account.

Department: Student Services"
  3. This will take you to a new login screen where you will use your Palomar Student ID # and Password to enter the Orientation. (Be sure to allow pop-ups.)

  4. Review orientation and complete the short quiz at the end.

This online orientation should take approximately 30 minutes to complete.  When you pass the quiz, your record is automatically updated within 24 hours to show completion of the orientation.
It is recommended that you not use Internet Explorer to access MyPalomar, Orientation, Canvas, etc.

Palomar students in a classroom. Complete the Steps to Enroll to receive enrollment assistance, meet with a counselor to develop an education plan, complete the online new student orientation, apply for financial aid, register for courses and more.
