
Emelia “Emy” Gregor (She, Her)

nspire@palomar.eduEmelia "Emy" Gregor is a Kumeyaay descendant from the Iipay Nation of Santa Ysabel and Haudenosaunee descendant from the Mohawk Nation of Kahnawake, Canada. Emy serves as the Student Support Program Coordinator for Palomar College’s Native American Resource Center. She is dedicated to supporting Native students by creating spaces where they feel welcomed, seen, and connected—whether through academic support, cultural programming, or access to resources.
Through the Native Student Support Program for Inclusion, Resilience, and Education (NSPIRE), Emy works to uplift American Indian/Alaska Native students by coordinating student-centered services and community-based outreach. She has been actively involved in the program’s development since its early stages—collaborating with campus partners to shape the mission and vision, contributing to the creation of eligibility guidelines, supporting data and reporting efforts, and assisting in the revitalization of the Resource Center’s presence and services on campus.
Her professional background includes serving as the Native American Student Support and Success Program (NASSSP) Grant Assistant and previously working as the Education Coordinator for the Rincon Indian Education Center (RIEC), where she supported Native youth through tutoring, academic enrichment, and culturally rooted educational activities.
Emy is passionate about educational equity and strives to build meaningful relationships with students and their communities. She welcomes anyone with questions, ideas, or interest in getting involved to reach out and connect.

Leslie Salas, Ed.D. (She, Her, Ella)

lsalas@palomar.eduLeslie has been associated with community colleges since she earned her associates of arts degree in paralegal studies at Riverside City College after serving in the United States Marine Corps for nine years. She is a proud first-generation Mexican American veteran college student.
Leslie’s long-time career in the California Community College system started more than twenty-two years ago at Riverside Community College District, where she started as a clerk typist in Health Services. She successfully transitioned through several valuable experiences and landed in Student Services. During this time, Leslie came to possess extensive experience in strategic planning, accreditation, budget administration, enrollment management, assessment, the Student Equity, and Achievement program, Guided Pathways, categorical programs (EOPS/CARE, Cal Works, DSPS, etc.), career and transfer readiness, student discipline, and community relationships. After eighteen successful years at Riverside Community College District, she served as the Director of EOPS/CARE at Mt. San Jacinto Community College District for the past five years.
Leslie holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology/Criminal Justice, a Master of Arts in Higher Education and holds a Doctoral degree in Community College Leadership at San Diego State University.
