SANTA CATALINA ISLAND: Offered in association with the Earth Sciences Department during spring break. (1.0 unit); 32 hours.
A fee of approximately $300 is required. The fee will cover ferry transportation to the island, lodging, and kayak rental.

BIOL 195A FIELD STUDIES/NATURAL HISTORY (1.0 unit); 32 hours, arranged with instructors.
This class is a spring semester field course. Students will meet instructors at designated locations and proceed to other locations in and around San Diego County throughout the day of each field trip. Students will be expected to provide their own transportation and be able to hike distances up to three miles.

\he class will have a mandatory orientation on Tuesday, May 20, in room NS-217 from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. where the locations of the field trips will be discussed as well as material that relates to the content of the class. Our field trip dates are as follows: May 27; June 3 and June 10. We will be in the field from 8:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. on each of those days and drive as many as 120 miles over the course of the day.
