#textbookbroke Webinar: Hear from US History and Anthropology faculty

Watch this webinar recording to hear from Marina Parenti, a US History professor at Palomar College, and Arnie Schoenberg, an Anthropology professor at San Diego City College, about their transition to open educational resources.  The webinar was recorded on October 5, 2018.

In addition to hearing about the specific open educational resources (OER) these faculty are using in their own courses, you’ll hear about Rebus Community Projects, where open textbook creators find fellow educators with whom they can collaborate on new OER, and the Fair Use Evaluator, a free online tool for helping you determine if your use of copyrighted material in your courses is considered fair use and does not require copyright permission.

If you have questions about the webinar, please contact us by emailing calm@palomar.edu

  1. Hi April Cunningham,

I came across your webinar from an old professor of mine, and I just wanted to say I hope you and others like you continue to inspire the adoption of open educational resources like OpenStax texts. I consider myself a life long learner, and that can be costly, but with the continued incorporation of open-source textbooks, the cost of education becomes less, and knowledge is made more accessible to all. I will share this link and this webinar with colleges of mine in the hopes that they, too, become OpenStax institutional partners. If you have any more resources available please reach out, thank you!

Please keep up the excellent work!

    Best Wishes,
    Eric
