Path to Palomar 2017

First Path to Palomar Open House Was a Success

More than 150 adult education students toured Palomar College on April 27, 2017 in the first ever Path to Palomar Open House. Students filled Palomar’s Student Union, where their orientation began with a welcome from the Palomar College President, Dr. Joi Lin Blake, who encouraged the students to follow their dreams to further their education.

Students then toured one of four pathway areas – Automotive, Business, Computer/IT, and Medical – before returning to the Student Union for a reception and visits with Palomar student services staff and counselors.

Palomar was thrilled to host students from Escondido, Poway, Ramona, San Marcos, and Vista Adult Schools for our first ever Path to Palomar Open House.

The event was such a success we plan to host a Path to Palomar Open House event each spring semester!  Check back in late 2017 for details on our next Open House!

Students gathered in the Student Union for a welcome by the College Superintendent/President, Dr. Joi L. Blake.
While in the Student Union, students from local adult high schools enjoyed a boxed dinner and read information about transitioning to college.
After the welcome in the Student Union, students split into large groups and toured classroom and training facilities for four interest areas. Pictured here is our Automotive Technology facility.
Students interested in careers in the medical field were able to tour our Nursing Education classrooms.
One of our Emergency Medical Education (EME) instructors gave a presentation on our EME/Paramedic programs.
