The Program: The Pauma Center (formally American Indian Education Center, AIEC) is a Palomar College satellite program operating on the Pauma Indian Reservation in Pauma Valley, CA. The center includes a classroom, office, and computer lab. The Pauma Center offers a wide variety of college courses at the Pauma location and other American Indian Reservations. This is coordinated with Pauma, American Indian Studies Department and Palomar College's Extension Center to meet the needs of the surrounding community.
Also available to students is the Pauma library nearby. The library is an extension of the San Diego Library System, located on the Pauma Indian Reservation and staffed with help from Palomar College.
Program Advantages: The Pauma Center offers students an opportunity to take college courses without traveling to the main campus. Other student services such as EOPS, counseling, academic counseling, and financial aid information are available at the center. The new computer lab can be used for computer classes or as access for online information or classes.
