American Indian Studies offers courses that cover Native American cultures from ancient times until the present. Our academic approach is holistic and multi-disciplinary and includes archaeology, history, humanities, ethnology, sociology, and political science. Each of these in their applied perspectives reveals the cultural and political influence of American Indian people on the nation and the world. The American Indian Studies Department also coordinates the American Studies Program at Palomar College.
