Many people have a very limited definition, and likely have an image of a person in a wheelchair in mind, when they hear the word disability. Some people might even fear disability, or think it’s taboo to discuss it. As a result, up to 20% of students at Palomar College are missing out on incredible resources that could enable them to be more successful in college. In this workshop you will learn a broader definition and image of disability and discover a healthier perspective of disability that aids in removing the fear and taboo. You will also get an overview of the Disability Resource Center (DRC), eligibility, how to apply, services provided, and perks of enrolling with the DRC.
