Jessica is majoring in biology and minoring in Spanish, all in hopes to eventually go to medical school specializing in pediatrics. With the position of a pediatrician, she hopes to encourage children and teens that their mental health is important, so they should seek out help when needed. With SWAG, she hopes to gain a better understanding of mental health to then share that information with others. As a Latina, Jessica knows the stigma mental health has in the Latin community and she hopes to alter that negative perspective in any small way possible in her career choice, as a SWAG Peer Mentor, and even in everyday life.
