The Office of Academic Support & Instructional Studies (OASIS) strives to facilitate the holistic enrichment of UC San Diego students through community-based, and culturally responsive mentoring, academic support, and professional development. At OASIS, it is all our staff’s vision to support all Tritons in their academic endeavors and empower them to enter the world as socially just changemakers.

Palomar’s Black Students and their Student Journeys

Join this session to learn about our Black  student body.  We will answer such questions as: How may Black students attend Palomar? What courses do they take?  What are their top majors and transfer destinations?  Participants will engage in conversation about how we can best support our black students throughout their journey.

Financial Literacy Workshop

Learn top money management tips and how to make your money go further. This session will help students understand how to better manage financial aid, finances, basic budget principles, how to keep good credit, avoid financial pitfalls and graduate debt free.

The Diaspora Dialogues: Educators’ Reflections from Ghana

THE BLACK HOUR: (A series of daily webinars hosted from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m.) Administrators, faculty, staff, and students from across the California Community College system are invited to join us to discuss successful approaches to ensure Black and African American students succeed at California community colleges.

This session will explore the reflections from our faculty members who attended the historic all-African Diasporic Summit with A2MEND. This reflection is an opportunity for faculty to express their respective experiences from a personal and professional perspective. Faculty will share their introspective reflections as well as how they have adapted their experiences into their curriculum and pedagogy as practitioners.

Programming for Black Student Success
