The Soto Six Quartet – Concert Hour

Performance Lab (D10) 1140 West Mission Road, San Marcos, CA, United States

Since 2017, The Soto Six has emerged as a leading force in San Diego County’s jazz scene. By establishing multiple jazz residencies in San Diego’s North County, the group has successfully built new outlets for live jazz in an area that previously had very few, thus garnering attention from San Diego’s Jazz 88.3FM, KPBS, and the San Diego Reader. In the Fall of 2019, the group expanded its horizons with a wide-ranging collaboration with pianist/composer Bob Weller. This multi-generational, diverse partnership has become central to the group’s identity. This vibrant ensemble, featuring Dylan Soto on saxophone, Bob Weller on piano, Max McKellar on bass, and Joannah Sy on drums, continues to deliver passionate performances across a range of settings, always embodying their deep love for jazz and its rich history. For more information, please follow the band on social media, or visit their website at www.thesotosix.com
