Black Student Success Week Welcome Event and Webinar: The Rise of Black-Serving Institutions
Join our 2025 Black Student Success Week welcome event dedicated to supporting and empowering Black and African American students in community colleges and beyond. This and other events taking place this week are open to the entire Palomar community, including administrators, faculty, staff, and students. We encourage everyone to participate and engage!
The webinar will explore the growing need for a formal Black Serving Institution (BSI) designation, focusing on California community colleges. The session will emphasize how a BSI designation addresses systemic inequities, enhances resources, and improves educational outcomes, ensuring these colleges better serve their communities.
