Welcome to the Palomar College Website Revamp Task Force feedback page. This space has been created so that our team can share the progress we are making with our revamp project and get feedback from members of the community as we go forward. We hope that this forum provides you with an opportunity to share your thoughts and ideas with our team.
We have been tasked by the strategic planning council to do a revamp of our current website. Our goal is to improve navigation of the website and maintain a consistent look and feel across constituencies, while allowing for some individual customization. We are using an existing technology (WordPress) to choose and implement templates for the Home Page and all college websites (Subpages).
We are guided by a well-represented task force from many constituencies of our college (see below) and are excited to work together to make this improvement. Since September of 2014, we have been working diligently on the Home Page & Subpage drafts (please see links below). Our process has included frequent meetings with the whole task force to provide oversight and discuss issues. In addition, a subgroup of members has been meeting weekly to make the changes suggested by the Task Force and to bring up new issues for the whole group to address. It has been a challenging but rewarding process.
Through the perspectives of our various constituents, we believe we have created drafts that have met our goal of having a shared community look and feel while having some autonomy for customization. We believe the overall look is clean, functional, easy to use, and primarily student-focused. Our primary goal is for students to easily access the information they need to be successful at Palomar College while also taking into account the needs of staff, faculty, and administration.
