Professor Eduardo J. Aguilar is a first generation college graduate. Professor Aguilar was born and raised in the State of San Luis Potosi, Mexico. At age eleven, Aguilar came to the United States and continue his journey in North County San Diego in the City of Encinitas, California. He attended six grade, junior high and high school in Encinitas.  After graduating from San Dieguito Academy, Aguilar attended Miracosta College and Palomar College. In 2002, Aguilar transferred to UC Riverside where he earned three Bachelors of Arts in Chicano Studies, Native American Studies, and History. After graduating from UC Riverside, he attended UCLA, where he earned a Masters of Arts in American Indian Studies with emphasis in law and history.

Aguilar currently teaches African American perspective, Mexican American perspective and U.S History at MiraCosta College, as well as Chicano Studies at Palomar College.

Professor Aguilar’s personal interests include staying on top of political, economic, and social issues around the world, and learning and teaching local history and culture. Professor Aguilar has strong convictions to social justice, immigrant, civil rights and humanity.
