If you have been disqualified from receiving Promise funding for Year 2 (2023-24), and have an extenuating circumstance, you may file a Promise Progress petition.  Online Petitions along with supporting documentation must be submitted by Friday, August 4, 2023.  Please allow at least 14 business days from the date of submission for processing. Students will be notified via their Palomar student email if the petition is approved or denied.

Who is eligible to petition?
  • In order to be eligible to submit a Promise Progress petition, you must have been a confirmed Palomar Promise Year 1 student in Spring 2023, and have an extenuating circumstance that prevented you from meeting the Palomar Promise requirements (i.e. severe illness or injury, death of immediate family member, COVID-19 related, or unforeseen extenuating circumstance).

In order for your petition to be considered, you must meet the following requirements below at the time of submission. Failure to complete these items prior to submitting your Progress petition will result in your petition being denied.

  • Enroll full-time (a minimum of 12 units, or units approved by DRC) for Fall 2023
  • Complete, submit and have on record a 23/24 FAFSA or California Dream Act Application
