Melissa has a BA in Human Development with a concentration in Counseling from Cal State San Marcos, where she is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Social Work. She has 7 years of experience within higher education such as Academic Advising, Cultural Spaces, CalFresh Outreach, and many more. Her passion lies in advocating for systemic change and holistically empowering young adults during pivotal stages of self-exploration and identity formation. With a client centered approach, she creates affirming spaces that support personal growth and emotional well-being rooted in empathy, cultural humility, and a strengths-based perspective. She strives to meet individuals where they are through collaborative and compassionate care.
