The state’s No.2 ranked softball squad continued their dominating season this week, picking up a pair of wins over Imperial Valley and San Diego City College on Thursday and Friday.

Traveling to the valley on Thursday the Comet’s easily dispatched the Arabs, racking up 14 hits on the day as they run-ruled, 9-1. Summer Evan’s four innings of one-hit pitching were enough to earn her 14th win of the season. K.K. Fonda, Kali Pugh, Brooke Huddleson, Maci Lerno, AND Stephanie Koishor each tallied multiple hits with Pugh hitting her eighth home run of the season.

Back at their home field on Friday the Comets made quick work of the City College Knights, winning by a 10-0 mercy rule after five innings. Evans, pitching on short rest, gave up only two hits over four innings while freshman Sara Rodriguez hit her second home run.

Palomar next plays Wednesday when they host San Diego Mesa College.
