Past Week in Palomar Sports 3/9-3/16

Volleyball 5-5 (3-4 conference)

The mens volleyball team lost at home on Wednesday to the reigning state champion Orange Coast Pirates in three sets. After losing 25-13 in the first, the Comets gave Orange Coast a strong test going to 25-21 and 25-23. Kyle Bass led the Comets with 11 kills while Matt Jones contributed 15 digs.

The Comets rebounded quickly, defeating San Diego City College at their Harry West gymnasium on Friday.

On Monday, Grossmont College traveled to the Dome and improved their PCAC record to 6-1 with a 25-19, 25-21, 25-21 straight set victory over Palomar.

The Comets next play Wednesday, March 18 at home vs. Miramar College.

Sand Volleyball

The newly-created sand volleyball team lost their second-ever match on Friday, losing to Orange Coast 4-1 at Huntington Beach. The Comets next play Friday, March 20 vs. Grossmont College
