The Palomar College Planetarium is open to the public most Friday evenings. Guests are invited to join us on the planetarium patio for free viewing through our telescopes (weather permitting).
Important Notes!
- Shows often sell out ahead of time. We recommend that you purchase your tickets online so you are not disappointed.
- Each show is sold separately. You may purchase tickets for one or both shows.
- We use a ticketless system – this means that you are NOT SENT TICKETS but instead you just show up and give your name (keep your email receipt with you in case there is an issue).
- The shows start on schedule – DUE TO SAFETY CONCERNS, LATE SEATING IS NOT ALLOWED! (NO REFUNDS FOR LATE ARRIVAL)
- Seating is not assigned and is open to first come, first served. Arrive early to get the seats you want.
- No food or drinks are allowed in the planetarium theater (this includes water bottles).
- Due to the darkened environment and safety concerns, children under the age of 5 years old ARE NOT ALLOWED in the Planetarium shows.
- All Planetarium shows are indoors and are unaffected by bad weather. The shows go on as planned – rain or shine!
- All ticket sales are final. No refunds are given for late arrivals or no-shows. Do your best to be on time!

Effective 1/1/2023 – We NO LONGER ACCEPT CASH at the box office. All major credit cards are accepted. Tickets are sold in advance online up to 5:30pm on the day of the show. The remaining tickets are sold at the box office on the night of the show. Shows are often sold out before the night of the show. If you want to guarantee a ticket, we recommend that you purchase your tickets online in advance!
