Immerse yourself in the enchanting melodies of Tales the Wind Carries, a delightful concert band production presented by the Palomar Comet Concert Band as they bring together the spirit of the holiday season with a diverse array of musical selections from around the world. From classic Christmas carols to joyful Hanukkah tunes and soulful Kwanzaa rhythms, the band weaves a tapestry of cultural expressions and musical traditions, celebrating the universal themes of love, joy, and togetherness.

A zany rich-boy-meets-hometown-girl romantic comedy, Crazy For You tells the
story of young New York banker Bobby Child, who is sent to Deadrock, Nevada,
to foreclose on a rundown theatre. In Deadrock, Bobby falls for spunky Polly Baker,
the theatre owner’s daughter. But Polly takes an instant dislike to the city slicker,
so Bobby vows – through cunning, razzmatazz, and a hilarious case of mistaken
identity – to win Polly’s heart and save the theatre. Memorable Gershwin tunes
from the score include “I Got Rhythm,” “Naughty Baby,” “They Can’t Take That Away
from Me,” “Embraceable You,” “But Not for Me,” “Nice Work If You Can Get It” and
“Someone to Watch Over Me. Adapted from the Gershwins’ 1930 musical Girl
Crazy, Crazy For You opened on Broadway at the Shubert Theatre on February 19,
1992, starring Harry Groener and Jodi Benson. The show ran for four years, playing
for 1,622 performances.

2024 SD Master Chorale HS Honor Choir – Directed by John Russell

The Palomar Chamber Singers will join members of the San Diego Master Chorale and selected singers from San Diego area high schools in the seventh annual high school honor choir. The Chamber Singers will serve in a leadership role during the morning session of the honor choir rehearsals and perform with the combined choruses for the afternoon concert. The SD Master Chorale HS Honor Choir exists to allow high school singers to attend this one-day festival and to serve as ambassadors of their experience at their schools in the following days and weeks. The ultimate goal is a greater understanding of ensemble singing and choral music artistry they can share with their classmates.

Spring Forward is a vibrant and invigorating production by the Palomar Comet Concert Band that embraces the season of renewal and growth. At the heart of the show is a student-written wind ensemble piece titled "The Years In Between." This piece beautifully explores the profound themes of loss, acceptance, and the discovery of new and enriching friendships. With lively and upbeat compositions join us as the days grow longer and the outside world becomes brighter.

A wildly creative, absurd and surprising reinvention of Ibsen’s Hedda Gabler. Jane Gordon, a pregnant housewife, is abducted by robots, taken to the rainforest, and forced to perform Hedda Gabler by her robot captors. Meanwhile Nugget, her ten-year-old daughter, with the aid of her milquetoast father, an eager documentary filmmaker and her small arms dealing uncle must rescue Jane - whether she wants to be saved or not. As we approach the AI singularity, Heddatron constructs a bizarre and strangely familiar world of reality TV and rocket launchers where everyone, artificial or otherwise, just wants to feel a little bit human.
