Kartik Raju will be taking over Brian Olson’s following his resignation as the new Palomar Community College District trustee starting Monday, Oct. 5, 2021.
The Palomar Community College District did a unanimous vote on Sept. 21, 2021, which resulted in Kartik Raju being the newest member to represent area 4 district.
Raju has 17 years of experience in the aerospace industry and a degree in electrical engineering.
Area 4 is a large region but not limited to Descanso, Borrego Springs, Julian, Palomar Mountain, Pauma Valley, Hidden Meadows, San Diego Country Estates, Poway, Ramona, Ranchita, Santa Ysabel, San Pasqual, Valley Center, Warner Springs, Rancho Bernardo, Scripps Ranch, and the Native American Tribal Nations of Pauma-Yuima, Pala, Los Coyotes, Rincon, La Jolla, Mesa Grande, Inaja-Cosmit, and the Lipay Nation of Santa Ysabel.
In a news release by Palomar news, Raju mentioned “Higher education is foundational to the well-being of our people, our community, and our whole country. It moves us forward.” and he added that he hopes to work with The Palomar Community College Governing Board and administration to boost enrollment and ensure that the College provides a safe and inclusive environment for its students, faculty and staff.
