Palomar has Addressed Racism, Diversity Well

Palomar College is doing a great job addressing the issue of racism and diversity.

Due to recent events with social justice around our community, Palomar College has sent emails in the month of February about events where they will advocate students about Black History Month.

Palomar sent out an email encouraging students to share a short video expressing what Black History Month means to them.

The school also uses Instagram in order to recognize African Americans, such as Martin Luther King Jr, Rosa Parks, Muhammad Ali, and many more.

Black History Month is important because it acknowledges people in the Black communities that played or play an important role in today’s society. We are taught about important people in our history but never acknowledge African Americans. We can be inspired and learn from the wisdom and learn about their struggles and successes.
