Women’s Golf placed 5th in their first tournament of the season after they shot a combined 783.
They played in a field of nine schools at the South Coast Classic on Sunday August 25th and Monday August 26th. Day one was played at Olivia Links Golf Course and day two was played at BuenaVentura Golf Course.
Freshman Kathy Henderson lead the Comets with a 7th overall finish after a combined score of 157. She shot a 77 on day one and an 80 on day two. Sophomore Maricel Nabor shot a 191, Freshman Hailey Bjernkes shot a 193 and Freshman Kumi Higuci shot a 242.
College of the Canyons won the tournament with a combined team score of 603.
Comets Women’s Golf will hit the greens again on September 4th at Ironwood Country Club in Palm Desert, Ca.
