Water Polo Collects End of Season Honors

Two members of the Comet women’s water polo team recently received All-Pacific Coast Athletic Conference honors for their performances in the Fall 2014 season. Sophomore Kelly Harris (Torrey Pines High School) and Freshman Emilee Foltz (Carlsbad High School) both made the first team list. Freshman Kelly Mundt (Mission Hills High School) and Sophomore Gabby White (El Camino High School) also were recognized for their season long performances, each being selected to All-PCCC second team.

Assistant coach Jackie Puccino was named conference coach of the year for guiding her swimmers to a 13-12 record in the regular season. The Comet’s finished 3-6 in conference play and lost the last three matches of their season narrowly keeping them out of the 2014 Southern California Regionals.

Members of the Mens PCAC champion squad also won multiple awards.  Sophomore Evan Dean (Vista High School) was voted as co-Conference player of the year. Along with Dean, four other Comet swimmers were selected to the all-conference first team. Goalie Ryan Lozano (Vista High School), Kody Moffatt (Chaparral High School), Cameron Rath (Poway High School), and Rich Farley (Carlsbad High School)  lead the way as Palomar represented well in the end of season rankings. Head coach Chad Aronen was also honored for the work he has done with this year’s team, being selected as the PCAC coach of the year.
