Sharon Taylor Headshot

Sharon Taylor is a San Diego-based cellist, improviser, and educator, passionate about sharing her love of music with students of all ages and skill levels. She makes learning the cello fun and engaging with a personalized approach focused on developing each student’s unique abilities. She is dedicated to creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment where students of all ages, can grow and thrive. Emphasizing mutual respect and open communication, she builds strong teacher-student relationships that inspire students to explore their passion for music whether for personal or professional growth.

Originally from Sacramento, she earned her Bachelor of Music degree in Cello Performance from San Diego State university from Thomas Stauffer, and continued further training with Principal cellist Yao Zhao of the San Diego Symphony. She has performed in various venues throughout San Diego, including the Athenaeum, and with a number of local orchestras and musical theater companies. Currently she is the Principal cellist of the Palomar Symphony Orchestra.
