Comets football take a loss to Riverside 21-47 in homecoming game

Riverside Coach Tom Craft went against his former team, the Palomar Comets in the 2021 homecoming football game.

Comets kicked off their first quarter, with Tigers coming ahead 17 to 0. Comets came back strong in the second quarter, with 6 to 7 for Tigers. Palomar College averaged 33% in third down efficiency with Riverside at 50%.

Comets had 20 first downs with 12 passing, 5 rushing and 3 penalties. Tigers were leading with 28 first downs, 11 passing, 17 rushing and no penalties.

Comets totaled 62 total offense plays with an average 5.6 gain per play and 26 rushing attempts. Comets total return yards averaged 73.

Tigers total offense plays were 78, 7.5 average gain per play and 49 rushing attempts. Tigers averaged 29 total return yards.
