Here’s what’s happening at Palomar College this week

Happy Monday Comets!

There’s a lot happening in the world nowadays, but here’s a list of reminders and news about what’s happening at Palomar College this week.

Dropped courses: deadlines, extensions, and refunds

Students should be aware that any dropped courses will be automatically refunded to their original form of payment used. If a student paid with cash, check, ACH, or a payment plan.

A check will be issued to the students mailing address on file. If fees were paid with a credit card, the refund will be credited to that card. For more information on refunds, be sure to check your student email for a letter from Acting President Jack Kahn.

Students will be able to drop courses without petition until May 15. There are different drop dates for different tracks, so be sure to look at your student email for the full list of dates. You can find them here: Extended Withdrawal Drop Deadline (1). Drops for full semester classes will not be accepted past May 15.

Ask the Nurse

Students should also know that the Student Health Center is offering free “Ask the Nurse” phone consultations. Students can call the Health Center at (760) 891-7530.

TLC Skillshops

Students looking for skillshops or other workshops on studying habits, financial advice or test-anxiety advice should check out the TLC Center’s page on the Palomar website. The TLC is providing students with online workshops and resources. They will also be hosting an online workshop on Understanding Credit Scores and Reports at 11 a.m. on May 6. For a full list of TLC workshops, visit their page on the palomar website here.

That’s all we’ve got for you this week. If you have any questions or would like us to add in any event or happenings for students to know about, let us know! Students and community members can email aacosta@the-telescope.com with events and other notifications.
