Women’s basketball continues to dominate

The Palomar College Women’s Basketball team entered the new year with a four-game win streak, defeating Grossmont College 85-25 on Jan. 31 in their conference matchup.

Nikki Mayoral led the Comets with a 16-point score. Lauren Hecker followed with nine points.

The team has an overall record of 21-2 and a 6-1 record in conference. The team has beat colleges from Los Angeles County to San Diego, including one loss of 55-51 to their local rival, the MiraCosta Spartans.

A rematch is set to take place at 5 p.m. on Feb. 12 at MiraCosta College’s campus. The last home game will be held at 6 p.m. on Feb. 14 versus Imperial Valley College.

The way the Comets are going, they are in a good stance to play in the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference Championship game this year. To keep track of the Women’s Basketball team online, follow @palomar_wbb on Instagram.
