Blood Drive

SAN MARCOS — One blood donation can save up to 3 lives. Donating blood is also good for the donor’s health. By reducing iron stores in the body, blood donation reduces the risk of some cancers and promotes heart and liver health. In other words, when donating blood, everybody wins.

Palomar College is hosting an American Red Cross blood drive, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., Nov. 6-9, at parking lot 6.

The Red Cross urges that people remember the recent tragedy in Las Vegas and consider how it illustrates “emergencies can happen in any community at any time… and blood donors are needed each and every day.”

Walk-ins are welcome, or to schedule an appointment, contact the Student Health Center by phone at (760) 891-7530.
