Tips for detoxing

Our bodies naturally are made to clean out all the toxins we take in, but a new trend has been allowing us to artificially do it ourselves: this is detoxing.

A trend specifically used to detox is called a juice cleanse. A juice cleanse is a fasting diet where a person is only allowed to consume fruit and vegetable juices for a certain period of time (usually a couple weeks).

One drawback to the juice cleanses: there is no evidence of it actually working, let alone doing anything good to your body. However, there is also no evidence of juicing being necessarily bad for your body.

Sure, you might lose a few pounds from the lack of food you are eating while you are cleansing, but if your trying to detox there are much healthier and effective ways for you to do this.

You don’t have to completely change your diet or do a cleanse to detox. Fitness magazines, such as Shape Magazine, suggest that the best way to detox is by: cutting sugar intake, drinking water with lemon juice, exercising, eating organic and exfoliating your skin.

So instead of juicing, try gradually incorporating those tips for a healthier, toxin-free body.
