  • Free Skin Screening Exams – The Health Services Centers are offering free Skin Screening Exams to students during Skin Cancer Awareness months in April and May. Students can schedule their screening appointment with the physician or nurse practitioner by calling (760) 744-1150, extension 2380 – 9am, Health Services Center

  • CONCERT HOUR: Steph Johnson Trio – Since her last Concert Hour performance in 2014, Steph Johnson has solidified her status as a funky, cool singer, songwriter and guitarist. Bassist Rob Thorsen and drummer Fernando Gomez round out this rootsy Americana trio. – 12:30pm, Howard Brubeck Theatre

  • ESL WORKSHOP: How to Write a Persuasive Essay – This workshop is FREE!!! If you are taking an academic writing class, chances are at this point of the semester, you are working on an essay that argues for or against a controversial idea. During this free, hour-long workshop, you will review the necessary sections of such a paper. You will learn and practice the skills you need to articulate the issue, to understand the background information, to decide which side you want to support, to create a thesis statement with controlling ideas, to construct a logical argument, and to offer a convincing refutation of the counterargument. A checklist will be provided as well. – 11am-12pm, H-118 (ESL Computer Lab)
