Pride at Palomar

On May 11, Palomar College will be celebrating LGBTQIA+ Pride.

The event will run from 11 a.m. till 2 p.m. In front of the Student Union. There will be guest speakers, a DJ, a photo booth, and more activities.

The festivities begin at 11 a.m. with an introduction by drag queen Syren. Other speakers include Professor Patti Dixon, Founder of the Gender Sexuality Alliance club at Palomar, Peter Gach, and Dr. Star Rivera-Lacey revealing the new Progress Pride Flag.

Beginning at 12:15 p.m. is a drag show followed by open mic for students and staff to talk about pride at Palomar.

At 1:30, there will be guided mediation by Jet Finell of the Mental Health Club. Following guided mediation, closing remarks will be made by Syren and Abbie Cory.

Also advertised will be handprint activities and 40 booths present as well as food and drinks provided.
