Get in the Holiday Spirit with These Christmas Events

Christmastime is around the corner!

The COVID-19 pandemic can’t dampen our holiday cheer. Below is a list of some fun Christmas events that will definitely get you in the holiday spirit.

WonderLAnd, an immersive Christmas drive-thru experience, is happening Nov. 30 to Dec. 23 and Dec. 26 to Dec. 30.

Due to COVID-19, WonderLAnd is taking safety measures with its staff members. This includes social distancing, cleaning surfaces and the placement of check-ups.

The event lets individuals experience the holiday season from their own car, and will allow them to get immersed in the holiday spirit by festive lights and Christmas decorations.

If you are a student looking to get away from the stress from school, this event is the perfect getaway. It costs $70 per vehicle.

If you are trying to save money, here is a perfect Christmas activity for you.

La Jolla Mom states that “Dr. Seuss’s How The Grinch Stole Christmas” is playing on radio station KPBS Radio 89.5 FM, the KPBS website and app, and smart speakers. These are the dates and times:

  • Noon on Sunday, December 20
  • 6 p.m. on Thursday, December 24 (Christmas Eve)

Another fun event to go to this holiday season is “The Los Angeles Christmas Market.”

The market will include pictures with Santa (with your family, friends or even by yourself), an opportunity to shop around and – of course – be with your family and loved ones.

The times for this event are 3 to 6 p.m. on Fridays, and noon to 3 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.

The website Average Socialite says that this event will be held 10 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 27, 2020 through 8 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 3, 2021.

In regards to their precautions to COVID-19, there will be:

  • “Contactless Claus” Visit
  • Santa’s Sanitization Squad
  • Face Coverings
  • Physical Distancing

Sparkle DTLA” is another free festive holiday event you can attend with your loved ones. This event will include tons of lights and lighting up with some holiday music. It also requires visitors to self-distance and wear face masks.

The website states that the light show schedule is once an hour between 5 to 9 p.m. and from Nov. 16, 2020 through Jan. 3, 2021.

Downtown Santa Monica is hosting a free event called “Winter Lit,” which will light up Third Street Promenade. It began on Nov. 27, 2020 and will go until Jan. 3, 2021.

Whether you’re planning on staying in for the holidays or not, these events are the perfect option for this season in quarantine. Bring your family or loved ones to enjoy these fun, festive holiday events!
