Halloween is right around the corner and watching a horror movie is always the best in October. A horrifying movie could set the atmosphere for just the occasion. Consider watching or rewatching these horror classics to celebrate Halloween this year.

“The Descent” (2005)

“The Descent” follows a group of friends deciding to go on a cave expedition. After overcoming some difficult terrain the group becomes concerned of their safety until the leading member admits she has been taking them through a undiscovered route. Now they must go deeper into the cave and encounter the creatures that have been lurking.

“Saw” (2004)

“Saw” is about two strangers being trapped in a bathroom with no way to escape. They realize they were kidnapped by the infamous serial killer, Jigsaw. To stay alive, they must solve his puzzles or remained trapped. Only by revealing the truth will that lead them to their escape.

“The Texas Chainsaw Massacre” (1974)

“The Texas Chainsaw Massacre” follows a group of travelers making their way through Texas. They pick up a strange hitchhiker that throws their plans off course. They end up at a decrepit house in hopes of receiving help from the locals, but they realize they caught the attention of the town’s well-kept secret.

“The Ring” (2002)

“The Ring” is about a reporter looking into the mysterious death of four teenagers. She ends up discovering a ominous tape and decides to watch it, only to discover she will die in seven days. Despite her life at stake she becomes invested in the unsolved mystery.

“Mama” (2013)

“Mama” follows two girls disappearing after their parents’ sudden death. Being presumed dead until five years later when the girls are found in an abandoned cabin. They are brought to live with their uncle and to be reintroduced to society. However, it seems something may have followed them with the intention of keeping them.
