‘Dreaming of Magic’ symphony event

SAN MARCOS — The Palomar Performing Arts will be hosting a musical performance called “Dreaming of Magic: Palomar Music Performers – Past, Present and Future!”

The event is open to the public. The performance will showcase music majors, people of interest, current students and other community members.

Classical performances by alumni Mary Jaeb, Robert Giracello and Emily Harrington will also be at the event.

The Cadencua ensemble, directed by Anna Pilad, will start off the event. Shawn Jerge, a Palomar student and pianist, will perform Gershwin’s “Piano Concerto in F major.” The Palomar Symphony Orchestra will also further entertain the audience with selections from Mendelssohn’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.”

This event will take place from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Oct. 27 at the Howard Brubeck Theatre.

For those interested in meeting the performers and/or students in the program, doors will open 45 minutes prior for a pre-concert chat.

Tickets are available at the box office and admission is $10 for students, $15 for non-students. Parking is free in lots 1, 2, and 15 during this event.
