Cali Creamin’

Can I introduce you to the adult version of the childhood classic cream soda?

This handcrafted beer from Mother Earth Brew Co. in Vista, Calif. is sure to become a fan favorite of even the occasional beer drinker. Unlike other vanilla cream ales out there that are sweet but then turn to a bitter hoppy taste, Cali Creamin’ is smooth all the way through.

Mother Earth Brew Co. claims that “you’ll swear you were drinking a cream soda but tricks are for kids.”

Nothing draws in people like the sweet aroma of vanilla, and maybe a hint of caramel and toffee. Cali Creamin’ will have your senses tingling the moment you open the bottle or the pint glass is placed in front of you.

This cream ale is sweetened by flaked corn and honey malts married together with vanilla accents. This beer is pregnant with sweet and flavorful notes all the way down to the core.

Cali Creamin’ is for those of us who have more of a sweet tooth. Reviewers on BeerAdvocate.com say that it leaves a sugary taste on the tongue, so it is more geared towards those that don’t like beers that have a bitter finish.

Mother Earth Brew Co. prides themselves on putting new twists on classic style beers. According to their website, you don’t have to worry about “three-year aged infections…just good solid brews.”

Whether out of the bottle or straight from the tap, at 5.2 percent ABV you’ll be able to enjoy this tasty beverage all night without having that heavy beer feeling in your gut.

Cali Creamin’ is a light golden ale that goes down very smoothly. The body not only consists of vanilla but it also has a wheat cereal taste.

Mother Earth is heavily influenced by the natural earth; their beers can be said to have an herbal essence to them. One ingredient used for Cali Creamin’ is a grain known as pilsen. Pilsen is what gives the lighter colored look and the fresh and crisper taste.

An unusual ingredient is the boiled Irish moss. Nothing says earthy taste like good ol’ moss. The moss is only a part of the mix for about 15 to 20 minutes. The short time the moss is in the pot creates an almost hidden citrus zest to the sweetness of the vanilla beans.

Men and women tend to have a different palate when it comes to beer. Cali Creamin’ can satisfy the ladies, and pack a little punch for the guys.
