The KKSM Song of the Day, as picked by DJ Holly, is “Be Near Me” by ABC. ABC is an English band that has been described as being new wave synth-pop. The song of the day I am picking “Be Near Me” is the second single on the album How to Be a…Zillionaire! Which is the third album from the group released in April 1985. The song is the only single from the album to reach the UK Top 40 however in the United States it reached the number 9 on the Billboard Hot 100. With the keyboard as one of the main instruments throughout the song especially in the intro this song is sure to be a favorite at clubs and even just a song to listen to at home. This is one of my favorite 80’s song in my top 10 song list mainly for the keyboard solo throughout and the tone of the song. The video has a lot of fun elements you might enjoy!
