KKSM is Palomar College’s award-winning campus radio station. We are a 500 watt station that broadcasts 24 hours a day, 365 days a year from the Palomar College campus in San Marcos, California at AM1320 on the radio dial in North County, simulcasting on Cox Digital Cable Channel 957 to all Cox Cable subscribers in San Diego County, and worldwide on the web!
As San Diego’s only freeform and independent radio station, we offer all forms of programming and music ranging from punk to hip hop, from heavy metal to blues, plus news and sports talk. As a community college station, we are free from corporate interests which allows for freedom to play what we want and to spotlight local, independent, and unsigned artists.
KKSM 1320 AM is a student operated station with students filling the positions of show hosts, newscasters, reporters, and sportscasters. Students also learn management skills as they become the station’s Program Director, Music Director, Production Manager, Promotion Director, PSA Director, News Director, and Sales Associates.
KKSM broadcasts on AM 1320 from Oceanside, CA. You should be able to pick up our signal from San Juan Capistrano in the North to La Jolla in the South and from the coastline in the West to the I-15 in the East.
