San Marcos Campus Dome Remains Open as a Red Cross Shelter

SAN MARCOS (Dec. 11, 2017) – Palomar College is OPEN today, Dec. 11 for classes and activities.  This includes all centers and sites, except Fallbrook High School and Bonsall (which remain closed today).

The San Marcos campus Dome remains open as a Red Cross Evacuation Center, until further notice.  College officials will update the campus as information is received regarding the Red Cross/Dome closure.

“We are relieved to get our campus back to a normal school week today,” stated Palomar College Superintendent/President Dr. Joi Lin Blake. “Our thoughts are with those who have lost their homes and pets.  So many within our Palomar family have been affected by the devastating destruction.  We are working with faculty and staff to support our community however we can, including keeping our Dome open for the Red Cross to serve as a shelter.”

Palomar Community College District is the largest community college district in San Diego County, serving 2,500-square miles (one-quarter of the County).  The main campus is located in San Marcos. The college serves nearly 30,000 students annually.
