Paul McNamara takes the helm as the Board President 

The Palomar Community College District Governing Board voted in new leaders at their meeting on Tuesday, December 10.

The Board proceeded to elect Trustee Paul P. McNamara to the position of Governing Board President.  Trustees John Halcón and Nancy Ann Hensch were elected to the positions of Board Vice President and Secretary respectively.

“We are fortunate to have such a committed Governing Board,” stated Palomar College Superintendent/President Robert P. Deegan.  “All of the Board members understand the College’s mission to provide the best education and services for the students and citizens of our District.”

McNamara was first elected to the Palomar College Governing Board in 2010. McNamara, a retired Marine Corps Colonel, is active in Rotary, Escondido Chamber of Commerce, and is a life-member of several organizations including the Eagle Scout Alumni Association, Disabled American Veterans, the Marine Corps Association and the Marine Corps Aviation Association.  He is a resident of Escondido.

Palomar Community College District is governed by a five-member Board.  Each member is elected to a four-year term by voters in the District.  A student Executive Officer of the Associated Student Government serves as student trustee for a one-year term.  The public may contact members of the Governing Board in writing c/o Palomar College, 1140 W.
