165 Additional Classes Added for the Spring
SAN MARCOS (January 8, 2014) – Spring semester classes at Palomar College begin on Monday, January 13. While admissions figures indicate that classes are filling quickly, classes in many subject areas are still open. After submitting an application, students may add classes until Jan. 19 without a permission code and until Jan. 26 with a permission code (obtained from the instructor).
The class schedule may be accessed on the college website. In addition to traditional format, Palomar offers online, television and flexible schedule classes, including short-term classes that start monthly and eight-week Fast Track classes. Learning community classes are also available, offering students the opportunity to take two classes simultaneously with the same group of people.
A sampling of the subject areas with open classes includes: accounting, business administration, American Indian studies, cultural anthropology, American Sign Language, chemistry, child development, computer science, digital arts (formerly called radio and tv), dance, mathematics, economics, public safety, English, nutrition, digital imaging/Photoshop, geography, history, humanities, kinesiology, music, art, medical office administration, philosophy, political science, psychology, reading, and water technology, plus many more.
The San Marcos campus is located at 1140 W. Mission Rd., San Marcos. Day and evening classes are also offered at the following locations: Escondido Center, 1951 E. Valley Parkway, 760-432-0624; Camp Pendleton site, Building 1331, 760-725-6626; and the Pauma site, located on Pauma Reservation Road, 760-742-1121. Evening classes are offered at Fallbrook High School, 2400 S. Stage Coach Lane, Building 10, room 10, 760-723-1058.
Public transportation via North County Transit District busses and Sprinter light rail serves the College with stations adjacent to the San Marcos campus.
