An information and activity table with interactive activities and prizes. Activities will include:

10 a.m. – 5 p.m.        Map Gallery (NS-Lobby)

10 a.m. – 3 p.m.        Virtual Sandbox (NS-Lobby)

11:30 – 12:30 p.m.    Geocaching scavenger hunt within Palomar college (NS-Lobby)

3 – 4:30 p.m.              Workshop: Build 3D Models with Drone Data (NS-127)

5:30 – 6:30 p.m.        Drone Industry Panel: Register at (registration required)

7 – 7:30 p.m.              GIS Job Seeker Panel (NS-125)

According to the GIS Day website,, “GIS Day provides an international forum for users of geographic information systems (GIS) technology to demonstrate real-world applications that are making a difference in our society.” GIS Day was initiated in 1999 by Jack Dangermond, the president and co-founder of Environmental Systems Research Inst., Inc. (ESRI), a company based in Redlands, California that produces GIS software.

WHO IS INVITED/COST/PARKING:                          

This event is free and open to the public. Visitors to campus may purchase all day parking passes from machines in Lots 5 and 9. Visitor spaces and metered parking are available in Lots 1 and 2.
