Japanese courses:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>First semester<\/strong><br>Japn 101 Japanese I (5 units)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Second semester<\/strong><br>Japn 102 Japanese II (5 units)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Third semester<\/strong><br>Japn 201 Japanese III (5 units)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Fourth&nbsp;semester<\/strong><br>Japn 202 Japanese IV (5 units)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Additional Courses<\/strong><br>Japn 130 Japanese Culture and Literature (3 units)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Japn 225 Japanese Conversation and Reading&nbsp; (3 A. Degree in Japanese<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Course Requirements&nbsp; (23 units)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Japanese 101* (5 units): Elementary Japanese I<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Japanese 102* (5 units): Elementary Japanese II<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Japanese 201** (5 units): Intermediate Japanese I<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Japanese 202** (5 units): Intermediate Japanese II<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Japanese 130** (3 units): Japanese Culture and Literature<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, A.A. degree requires the completion of general education (GE) courses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>*&nbsp; Students can meet the Japanese 101 and 102 requirement by taking the <em>Credit by Exam<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>** Since 201, 202, and 130 are not offered every semester, students are encouraged to take these courses when offered rather than waiting for the next expected opening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Certificate in Japanese<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Students are required to complete the five Japanese courses listed above.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Textbooks for Japanese:<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Japanese 101 and 102<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Textbook, Nakama I, by Y.A.
