Inside Wiremen install conduit, electrical wiring, fixtures, and electrical devices inside commercial buildings and in a multitude of industrial settings. Graduates of the Inside Wireman apprenticeship program become Journeyman Inside Wireman. Major duties for Inside Wiremen include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Planning and initiating projects<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Establishing temporary power during construction<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Establishing grounding systems<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Installing electrical service to buildings and other structures<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Establishing power distribution with a project<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Planning and installing raceway systems<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Installing new wiring and repairing old wiring<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Providing power and controls to motors, HVAC, and other equipment<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Installing receptacles, lighting systems, and fixtures<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Troubleshooting and repairing electrical systems<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Installing and repairing traffic signals, outdoor lighting, and outdoor power feeders<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Installing fire alarm systems<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Inside Wireman Program Entrance Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Applicants must be a minimum of 18 years of age.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Applicants must be at least a high school graduate, or have a GED, or have a two-year Associate Degree or higher.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Applicants must show evidence of successful completion of: one full credit of high school algebra with a passing grade, or one post-high school algebra course (e.g. Adult Education, Continuing Education, Community College, etc.) with a passing grade, or provide evidence of having successfully completed the NJATC Math Course, or of passing an <a href=\"http:\/\/www.njatc.utk.edu\/\"><strong>internet-based, ETI approved Algebra course<\/strong><\/a> with the final assessment taken under the supervision of an ETI instructor.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Applicants must submit an officially-sealed transcript for high school and post-high school education and training. All GED records must be submitted if applicable. Sound Technicians are variously known as technicians, installers, and system designers.
