Know Your Rights (JFSSD/HELS)
November 16, 2021 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm PST
Our chances of running into a Law Enforcement Officer are greater when living in a border community. The JFS’s Higher Education Legal Services (HELS) Team invites you to our presentation on Know Your Rights and Family Preparedness. Civil and basic rights under the U.S. Constitution pertain to all regardless of immigration status. HELS will break down your basic rights and a family preparedness plan in case you or your loved one(s) are exposed to an unfortunate situation (i.e., detention or deportation).
