I started as a student at the first community college in California – Fresno City College. I graduated from FCC and transferred to UC Davis. After getting my B.A. in English with minors in communications and linguistics at UC Davis, I eventually moved to South Korea to teach English. After returning to the United States, I earned my M.A. in linguistics with an emphasis in Teaching English as a Second Language from Fresno State. I taught ESL, linguistics, and English for Academic Purposes at two community colleges and a private university, and I helped coordinate for three different tutoring programs before moving to San Diego. My passion to work with students led me here to the Rancho Bernardo South Education Center.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

I was raised in North County and earned an A.S. in medical office administration and an A.A. in general studies with an emphasis in social and behavioral sciences from Palomar College. I have worked for Palomar College since 2013 as a part-time office assistant at both the Escondido and San Marcos Teaching and Learning Center. Additionally, I have worked with many Palomar programs such as Summer Bridge, First Year Experience, and Palomar Promise. I love being part of a team that helps students achieve academic success. As the administrative specialist at the Rancho Bernardo TLC, I hope to make this center an inviting place for students to learn.

Meet our tutors. Together they can tutor: biology, chemistry, English/writing, physics, CSCI, and math.

Hi! My name is Laura. I’ll be your student tutor for general biology and human anatomy. I enjoy helping others make sense of topics that can sometimes feel overwhelming. I believe that asking questions is an important part of learning, so please feel comfortable asking me anything – even if you think it’s a “simple” question! My goal is to make studying a little less stressful and help you feel more confident in what you’re learning. I’m looking forward to meeting you all and learning together.

Hi! I’m David, and I am studying electrical engineer here at Palomar. I actually really like math and computer science and love tutoring it. Don’t be afraid to stop by and ask any questions!

Hi. My name is Diego. I am a former/current Palomar student who tutors the topics of math and physics with a heavy focus on analytical problem solving! I transferred from Palomar College to UC Berkeley and have a degree in physics and would like to help young students who are trying to learn math and science fundamentals that I learned several years ago.

Hello! My name is Mehran. I tutor all levels of math. I look forward to work with you.

Hi, I’m Jasmin! I’m a passionate tutor who loves helping students explore the worlds of chemistry and biology. Whether you’re balancing chemical equations or diving into the wonders of living organisms, I’m here to guide you every step of the way. When I’m not tutoring, you’ll probably find me tending to my garden or working on my latest crochet project. I believe learning should be a positive and encouraging experience, so if you’re looking for a friendly space to boost your understanding and confidence in Chemistry or science, come on in — I’d love to help you succeed!

Hi, my name is Lance! I am the English/Writing and math tutor. I’m here every step of the way. I firmly believe that there are no “stupid” questions or bad essays. Please feel free to find comfort in knowing we all are here to succeed and every successful student has been in your shoes. I’m also a roller-skater, and a big fan of games and anime. If it helps ease the awkwardness come chat about your favorite thing and I’ll help you seamlessly integrate that passion into your perception of critical thinking and studying!

Hello!! My name is Haley, and I am the tutor for AutoCAD and Revit. I am also experienced in other programs such as SketchUp, Enscape, 2020 Design Live, Canva, and Adobe software (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign). I recently graduated from Palomar with an associate degree in architecture and interior design. I hope to help with projects and assignments, as well as design development, for all your classes in the Arch/ID program.
