Softball and Baseball are both the No. 1 Seeds.

Men’s Baseball and Women’s Softball regular seasons come to an end with them both being the No. 1 seed for the SoCal Regionals starting this Friday, May 5.

Women’s Softball:

The Comets (36-1) are the top seed in this year’s SoCal Regionals, Palomar will be hosting the winner of a play-in game between No. 16 seed Allan Hancock (22-14) and the No.17 seed Chaffey (25-14). The Comets will be playing their games at Bradly Park on May 5 with game one set to start at 2 p.m., and game two on May 6, which will begin at noon, and if needed a game 3 will follow.

Palomar Women’s Softball has claimed their ninth consecutive Pacific Coast Athletic Conference (PCAC) championship with a 12-0 record in conference play. The Comets look to stay hot heading into the playoffs with an 11-game win streak.

If Palomar were to survive the first round of playoffs, they would move on to the second round of regionals May 12-13, if they advance they will be moving on to the CCCAA state tournament May 18-21 at Mt. SAC.

Men’s Baseball:

The Palomar College Baseball team (33-6) overall is the No. 1 seed for the California Community College Athletic Association Southern California Regionals. The Comets finished with a (24-1) conference record and move into the playoffs on a two-game win streak.

The Comets will hold the first round of playoffs with a best-of-three series against East Los Angeles College starting Friday, May 5. The first pitch is set to be thrown at 2 p.m. Game two is set to be played on Saturday, May 6, but the start time is still unknown. If needed, game three will be played roughly 30 minutes after the end of game two on May 6.

There will be 12 teams that will move on from round one. Those 12 teams will compete in the Super Regional round May 11-13 in a double elimination competition. The winning four teams from that round will go onto the Regional Finals May 19-21 in a best-of-three games series. The last two teams will go to Folsom, CA for the Final Four.

The Comets claimed their 18 conference title in program history two weeks before the conference season was set to end. This is the 18 SoCal Regionals appearance by the Comets since 2000 and the third time they’ve had the No. 1 seed.
